Rascal

The story of Rascal is about this boy that finds this raccoon, and keeps him for a pet. He keeps him for a pet atleast for the summer. The boy's name is Sterling and he names his pet Rascal. There love and companionship grow through out the story. There are lots of exciting things they do together in every chapter. But beware there are some sad parts in certain chapters. I rated this book with a 9 because it is really good and exciting. It's weird to see how a boy and a wild raccoon become such good friends when the don't even use talking communication. So sit down enjoy this book and see if you think the same.

"Blaze" By Stephen King

Blaze is the story of a hard case loser named Clayton Blaisdell, Jr. “Blaze” as he was known to his friends (the few he had) has lived the hard life since his dad threw him down the stairs for eating cereal in the living room, then picked him up and tossed him down a few more times just for good measure. Robbed of what was shaping up to be a strong intellect by the resulting brain damage and put in an orphanage, Blaze’s life story unfolds in a series of flashbacks while he tries to pull off the kidnapping of the infant heir to a shipping magnate’s fortune… helped along by the ghost of his dead friend George. Blaze, by the way, is 6 foot 8 inches tall, weighs 270 lbs and has a giant dent in his forehead courtesy of his old man. He has “conversations” with George as he tries to figure out how to kidnap the kid, deal with him and get the ransom. The homage to Of Mice and Men is obvious and readily pointed out in the foreword.

Blaze is part crime novel, part paranormal story (small part, really) but mostly meant as a tragedy. Fate is not kind to Blaze, who endures much as a young kid growing up in an abusive orphanage where his few chances at escaping to a good life are thwarted by bad luck or his own, thinking-challenged condition. We are meant to feel great empathy for Blaze, who is shown to be good at heart and kind, but who circumstance has made into a career criminal.

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows"

What or where are the hallows? And why are they so deadly? These were the first two questions that came to mind when I saw J.K. Rowling's title, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." These and many more questions will be answered in the 759-page installment of Book 7.

In "Deathly Hallows," the action starts sooner than any other book of Harry Potter. Two main characters are killed in the first five chapters, though not all are human. Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger embark on a hunt for the horcruxes with the Death Eaters not far behind. The ministry has formed vial and treacherous organizations; no one can be trusted. Previous characters make a re-appearance, but not as many, due to the war. Hogwarts is in peril. A new headmaster has taken reign. Death is in the air like smog over a large city. Even muggles are noticing the effects of the war against Voldemort.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione are now on a quest to stop Voldemort and the Death Eaters. They have received items from the late Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore that will help and guide them. Dumbledore has left many secrets behind, and seeking Bathilda Bagshot may hold answers.

Heavy lockets, gold tiaras and magical cups share the spotlight in this heart-pounding and fast-paced novel. There is an ever-rising death toll. Subtle plot elements from previous books are closely intertwined. The seven-part saga goes out with a bang; a loud one at that. In my opinion, this book is the best Harry Potter book ever. Pick up a copy and you won't be disappointed. The action and mystery more than make up for the loss of some beloved characters. Overall, it's an A+.
